Rain or Shine: Members Cooperative Credit Union Showered Support at Grandma’s Marathon 2024!

As another successful weekend at Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, MN, came and went, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate our community. Members Cooperative Credit Union was elated to join the cause at this year’s race as a Presenting Sponsor. And even in the rain, wind, and cold, we saw our Members team show up to support their community from the start through the finish line.

A Few of Our Favorite Moments from This Year’s Race

With over 17,500 race finishers this year, Grandma’s Marathon set a record for its biggest race weekend yet. Seeing the incredible turnout and so many race participants and attendees show up for an exciting race weekend reminded us of how Grandma’s always brings together a community of support.

“Yet again, Grandma’s showed how our community can come together to rally around one another, cheering each other on through the finish line,” said Lara Wilkinson, Communications Manager. “And this year was no exception, as it was especially incredible to see our credit union members and so many others show up in the rainy Duluth weather to celebrate each other’s successes.”

At this year’s race, the Members team kicked things off at the 2024 Essentia Health Fitness Expo. Here we met with many of our members, both familiar and new faces, played games, and had a 10-foot cowbell to ring in race weekend. Then, on race day, we had the pleasure of handing out medals at the finish line, celebrating all our amazing race finishers. From the sidelines and wrapped in our rain ponchos, we cheered alongside the other racers, families, friends, and community in attendance.

“One of the most exciting parts of what we do at Members is seeing our members hit cherished milestones and achieve financial goals time and time again,” said Melissa Swenson, Senior Business Development and Outreach Specialist. “And to ensure these successes, our team is here to plan and help guide our members and will always be at the finish line to join in the celebrations.”
